Skrtel Header v Man City **Anfield View**

Posted by

It was billed as Liverpool’s biggest of the game season and quite possibly in decades. The significance of this game and what it meant to the fans was clear to see. Liverpool fans took to Anfield Road and welcomed in the first-team coach to the ground, just as they did, so memorably against Sunderland.

The atmosphere began building well before kick-off as fans arrived early inside the stadium to take their seats. Liverpool’s 12th man were in full voice and generated a noise that, could even be heard during Brendan Rodgers’s Pre-match interview with Sky Sports.

For those lucky enough to be there yesterday to experience that electric atmosphere, the beautiful mosaic tribute to the 96, and Coutinho’s wonderful strike  – it was an incredible game, which will be talked about for many years.

Sample that atmosphere at close quarters and see how the stadium erupted when Martin Skrtel’s header literally shook the Kop, as everyone celebrated in a state of delirium.
