When we caught up with Mike Marsh recently, we asked him whether there were any standout moments or games from last season. And the Newcastle game from last season was the one that Mike Marsh picked out.

Speaking exclusively to The Asian Kop, Mike said:

“Yeah, there was really. You talk about the Newcastle game when Luis scored in the home game. I think when it all came together was the Newcastle away game when we won 6-0. We scored early on in the game, we went on to score 6 goals in the game but it was how we played in the game, controlled the game, controlled possession, looked threatening everytime we had the ball. I think near a perfect performance that you will see.

“It all comes together as it does sometime. Sometimes you don’t know why, sometimes it’s the opposition you are playing against or the players you’ve got on the pitch. For whatever reason on the day we performed really well, the eleven players on the pitch and the substitute came on…everyone performed to their maximum.”
